Marriott International Hainan Area 24 Hotels go dark for Earth Hour

SANYA, China, March 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- 24 Marriott International hotels in the Hainan Area will go dark for one hour to shine a light on climate action in support of Earth Hour 2018. To bring Marriott's Spirit to serve live in the local community, there will be a charity donation initiative for Hainan. On March 24, every guest dining at any of Marriott International Hainan hotels' restaurant for lunch or dinner, RMB 5 will be donated to the certified non-profit organization Sanya Bright Connection supporting children with autism and cerebral palsy.

The following properties have their brilliant plans to encourage guests to participate in the Earth Hour and raise awareness for the climate change.

The Westin Shimei Bay Resort will hold the "soap-making class", all materials are recycled from the white tea aloe soap from guest rooms, and guest can take their hand made soap home. Meanwhile Westin Healthy Run will boost 1.5 km evening running event. Le Meridien Shimei Bay Beach Resort & Spa will light bonfire and invite guests for bamboo dance, beach crab hunting, followed by a live concert by a band from Paraguay. Sanya Marriott Hotel Dadonghai Bay will show environmental protection themed movies in the garden and invite guests to join wish-making activity with lotus lanterns. The Shanhaitian Resort Sanya, Autograph Collection will create an unparalleled dining experience with themed buffet dinner. The Ritz-Carlton, Haikou is going "dark" in their restaurant, with a few candles for the dining area, and enjoy a performance at Flair bar on the top floor of the hotel. Renaissance Haikou Resort & Spa will invite guests to the lobby bar during the Earth Hour and offer a themed cocktail with compliments. Daniele Vacca, Chef de Cuisine of Sofia Italian restaurant of The Ritz-Carlton Sanya Yalong Bay will present innovative five-element menu of water, fire, wood, earth and metal to entice diners. Sheraton Shenzhou Peninsula Resort, Four Points by Sheraton Shenzhou Peninsula Resort will have a beach cleaning activity and craft 60+ symbol sand sculpture, followed with a ceremony to turn the lights off and a concert with a non-alcohol cocktail hour.

The Westin Sanya Haitang Bay Resort, Sanya Marriott Yalong Bay Resort & Spa, Sheraton Sanya Bay Resort,  Four Points by Sheraton Hainan, The St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay Resort, Xiangshui Bay Marriott Resort & Spa will Invite guests to a moonlight concert by offering themed cocktails and special snacks with compliments.

About Sanya Bright Connection

In 1997, Mr. & Mrs. Davis found an eight-month-old girl with autism and cerebral palsy disease in the forest, and adopted her. They established the "bright connected" center for  taking care of the underprivileged children in 2004. For more than a decade, the "bright connected" center has been a warm home for many children with autism and cerebral palsy , and some of them have been recovered and live normal life after rehabilitation training.
