Takao & Maglev Train Promotion Council (Hachioji City, Akiruno City, Sagamihara City, Otsuki City, and Tsuru City) have cooperated to produce a new promotional video highlighting tourist attractions on the west side of Tokyo.

The five cities are located on the west side of Tokyo and are readily accessible for tourists who want to experience the rich nature, tradition, history and culture of Japan. They are also very convenient sightseeing bases for Mt. Fuji. In order to communicate their attractiveness to people around the world, the five cities have cooperatively produced and released the Tokyo Westside promotional video. Details are as follows:

  • Video title: Tokyo Westside ― Treasures at every turn! ―
  • Producer: Maruyama Moeru
  • Main filming locations:

Mt. Takao (Hachioji City): A mountain that is also certified as a three-star Michelin spot.
Akigawa Valley (Akiruno City): The area where the clear Akigawa stream runs and visitors can enjoy the four seasons by viewing the changing foliage throughout the year.
Fujino Art Trail (Sagamihara City): Outdoor art is scattered throughout the mountain village in a rich natural environment. The Love Letter installation is famous.
Saruhashi Bridge (Otsuki City): A unique wooden bridge that was constructed in the seventh century and featured in ukiyo-e woodblock prints. The harmony with the surrounding landscape is gorgeous.
