This accreditation is a recognition of impartiality of SGS report and conformity of the capacity of SGS laboratory to international standards. The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), founded in 1862 as a non-governmental organization, is one of the most recognized Shipping societies in the world. ABS is a professional organization engaged in the classification of ships and is known for its rigorous auditing.
In the process of qualification certification, ABS conducted audit to SGS laboratory and practice demonstration, and highly recognized the overall quality of work by SGS, including capability on field operation and lab testing as well as strict quality control process, which enabled SGS BW testing team to be certified to provide ABS standard inspection report.
