PALO ALTO, California and BEIJING, Jan. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Varian (NYSE: VAR) today announced it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ping An Health Technology Co., Ltd, to explore a strategic partnership for expanding access to cancer care in China. Leveraging their respective technical and domain expertise, the two companies will investigate the utilization of artificial intelligence, cloud computing and big data technologies, to deliver high quality and cost-effective cancer care to a far greater number of people in China, and close to where they live.
Varian and Ping An share a common vision of improving the digitalization and understanding of the entire cancer life cycle, covering prevention, detection, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and palliation. Through their combined efforts, Varian and Ping An will look to create a more comprehensive tool to help healthcare professionals increase the effectiveness of treatment methods such as surgery, chemotherapy, molecular medicine and radiation therapy.
