Ching Ming Festival (Hong Kong)/ Tomb Sweeping Day (Taiwan)

Hong Kong: Ching Ming Festival, or Qingming, is a special Chinese day for the remembrance of ancestors. It falls in the third lunar month of the Chinese calendar, which is usually in the first week of April in the Gregorian calendar. The festival is very ancient, dating back in Chinese history around 2,500 years. Taiwan: Officially known as Qingming Jie, Tomb-Sweeping Day is a traditional Chinese celebration set aside to honour departed family members. Also known as Ching Ming Festival , Taiwanese families remember their ancestors by cleaning and offering sacrifices that may benefit the deceased.
