Fukushima Tsunami Remembrance Day (Japan)
The anniversary of 9.0 magnitude earthquake that struck off Japan's northeastern coast near Fukushima that sparked a tsunami that swept away thousands of people and caused a nuclear disaster that continues to wreak misery for many. On this day in Japan, people offer a silent prayer for tsunami victims at the time of the earthquake (2:46pm) during memorial services in Fukushima and other cities across Japan.
