International Day of Happiness
What is the International Day of Happiness? It’s a day to be happy, of course! Since 2013, the United Nations has celebrated the International Day of Happiness as a way to recognise the importance of happiness in the lives of people around the world. The UN just launched 17 Sustainable Development Goals that seek to end poverty, reduce inequality, and protect our planet – three key aspects that lead to well-being and happiness. The United Nations invites each person of any age, plus every classroom, business and government to celebrate the International Day of Happiness each year on March 20.
World Theatre Day
Since 1962 World Theatre Day has been celebrated by ITI Centres, ITI Cooperating Members, theatre professionals, theatre organizations, theatre universities and theatre lovers all over the world on the 27th of March. This day is a celebration for those who can see the value and importance of the art form “theatre”, and acts as a wake-up-call for governments, politicians and institutions which have not yet recognised its value to the people and to the individual and have not yet realised its potential for economic growth.

This is the only bronze label road race in Taiwan, attracting the attention of many marathoners.
World Sleep Day
World Sleep Day is an annual event, intended to be a celebration of sleep and a call to action on important issues related to sleep, including medicine, education, social aspects and driving. It is organized by the World Sleep Day Committee of World Sleep Society (founded by WASM and WSF) and aims to lessen the burden of sleep problems on society through better prevention and management of sleep disorders. World Sleep Day is held the Friday before Spring Vernal Equinox of each year. Future dates will be: March 15, 2019 and March 14, 2020.
White Day (Japan)
White Day is an unofficial holiday in Japan celebrated every year on March 14. The origins of this celebration are open to debate, however, it is tradition that men who received a present from women on Valentine's Day are expected to give women on this day a present in reciprocity. Normally, men are expected to give women something at least three times greater in value than what they received.
World Kidney Day
850 MILLION PEOPLE WORLDWIDE are now estimated to have kidney diseases from various causes. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) causes at least 2.4 million deaths per year and is now the 6th fastest growing cause of death. Despite the growing burden of kidney diseases worldwide, kidney health disparity and inequity are still widespread. Kidney Health for Everyone Everywhere calls for universal health coverage (UHC) for prevention and early treatment of kidney diseases.
Fukushima Tsunami Remembrance Day
the 8th anniversary of 9.0 magnitude earthquake that struck off Japan's northeastern coast near Fukushima that sparked a tsunami that swept away thousands of people and caused a nuclear disaster that continues to wreak misery for many. On this day in Japan, people offer a silent prayer for tsunami victims at the time of the earthquake (2:46pm) during memorial services in Fukushima and other cities across Japan.

Balinese Day of Silence, also known as "Nyepi" or Saka new year. It's a day of silence, fasting and meditation for the Balinese.
Hinamatsuri
Hinamatsuri, also called Doll's Day or Girls' Day, is a special day in Japan. Hinamatsuri is celebrated each year on March 3. Platforms covered with a red carpet are used to display a set of ornamental dolls representing the Emperor, Empress, attendants, and musicians in traditional court dress of the Heian period. It is tradition on this day that families pray for the happiness and prosperity of their girls and to help ensure that they grow up healthy and beautiful.

228 Peace Memorial Day is a Taiwanese public holiday that serves as a memorial event for the 228 Massacre.
Independence Movement Day (South Korea)
The Independence Movement, also called the March 1st Movement, was an uprising of the Korean people against the Japanese occupation on March 1st, 1919. In Korean, the movement is called “Sam-il”, meaning three-one, numbering the month and day on which it began.
228 Memorial Day & Holiday (Taiwan)
228 Peace Memorial Day is a Taiwanese public holiday that serves as a memorial event for the 228 Massacre. The day honors all of the people that were murdered by Kuomintang military forces on February 27, 1947. The holiday is generally treated as a day of sadness and reflection. When a public holiday falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, the Taiwan administration will make arrangements to turn it into an extended holiday by using the previous Saturday as an official work makeup day, with the exception of some special situations.
Rare Disease Day 2019
Rare Disease Day takes place on the last day of February each year. The main objective of Rare Disease Day is to raise awareness among the general public and decision-makers about rare diseases and their impact on patients’ lives. Rare Disease Day events are down to hundreds of patient organisations all over the world who work on a local and national level to raise awareness for the rare disease community in their countries. Since Rare Disease Day was first launched by EURORDIS and its Council of National Alliances in 2008, thousands of events have taken place throughout the world reaching hundreds of thousands of people and resulting in a great deal of media coverage.

The Oscars
The 91st Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), will honor the best films of 2018 and will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. The ceremony will be held on February 24, 2019. During the ceremony, AMPAS will present Academy Awards (commonly referred to as Oscars) in 24 categories. The ceremony will be televised in the United States by American Broadcasting Company (ABC), produced by Donna Gigliotti and Glenn Weiss, with Weiss also serving as director.
