Over 100 creators joined launch party in Jakarta to celebrate Tik Tok's growing communities
JAKARTA, Indonesia, Sept. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- With more than 100 million Internet users[1] which dramatically grew 35% in only one year[2], ByteDance Inc. decided to expand into Indonesia by launching Tik Tok, a music video platform and social network. ByteDance Inc. sees the promising market as a huge potential for their business to grow globally. In China, Tik Tok is already one of the fastest growing apps and the most popular music video community, thanks to its advanced and easy-to-use technology.
To celebrate the introduction of the technology and inspire a new generation of creators, Tik Tok held a launch party in Jakarta. Over 100 creators and celebrities attended, including Indonesian actress Salshabilla Adriani and Thai actress and singer Suppanad Jittaleela (also known as Tina). Both pop stars featured content on their own Tik Tok accounts.
Viv Gong, Head of Marketing, Tik Tok, said:
"As Indonesia has the sixth largest population of Internet users in the world, we see a huge market opportunity for our app. Our Tik Tok community is growing rapidly in China and starting to spread globally, including to Indonesia. We are planning to cultivate more content creators in Indonesia, as talented youth across the region love to celebrate, create, and share. Making music videos is becoming more fun with advanced technology and a world of Tik Tok supporters to cheer them on."
Tik Tok lets your phone become your mobile studio. The app includes eye-catching and easy-to-use special effects so everyone can make fun and entertaining videos more easily. Through the combination of artificial intelligence and image capturing technology, video creation is simplified and performances are enhanced. Tik Tok's special effects include shaking and shivering with hip-hop and electronic music, hair dying, 3D stickers and props. In addition, creators can take their talent to the next level and unlock a world of endless possibilities by tapping into a massive music library.
Designed for the new generation of digital natives and social media creators, Tik Tok allows users to easily make unique short videos and share with friends, all over the world. By empowering more creative minds to be part of the content revolution, the app is becoming a new cultural benchmark for global online content creators, including in Indonesia.
