2017-12-21 15:45 3754

SHANGHAI, Dec. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- On December 15, TUV Rheinland issued the first 2Pfg 2511 & VDE-AR-E 2510-50 certificates for the PowerCube-H1-48 product series developed by Pylon Technologies Co., Ltd. ("Pylontech") of Shanghai. The certificate presentation ceremony was attended by representatives from both companies, including Mr. Lutz Frankholz (Managing Director, TUV Rheinland Shanghai), Mr. Li Wei-chun (General Manager, Solar & Fuel Cell, TUV Rheinland Greater China), and Mr. Cai Xue-feng (General Director, Energy Storage Products, Pylontech).

During the ceremony, Mr. Frankholz noted: "Energy storage is the foundation of energy interconnection. The future of energy is in energy storage. My congratulations to Pylontech on receiving the first certificate in the world for the latest German energy storage standards." Mr. Li also congratulated Pylontech on its successful certification, stating: "Pylontech is a benchmark enterprise in the energy storage industry. It is the first company in the world to achieve both 2Pfg 2511 and VDE-AR-E 2510-50 energy storage system certification, and the first energy storage company to pass the most rigorous certification standard in the world. What this means is that Pylontech has now formally overcome the most demanding energy storage market entry threshold in the world."

Pylontech's Mr. Cai thanked TUV Rheinland for its support: "Germany is the birthplace of the energy storage application and commercialization market. Its standards are far more rigorous than those of other regions. Where there's a will, there's a way. Pylontech obtained this certification granting access to the German market by the dint of long and relentless effort. Our global market expansion can now move forward at an even faster pace. It represents another milestone in our partnership as well. "

The 2Pfg 2511 energy storage standard devised and published by TUV Rheinland, along with the VDE-AR-E 2510-50 energy storage system standard issued by Germany this May, represent the first standards in the world to conduct comprehensive assessments of energy storage. The two standards encompass most of the safety risks related to energy storage systems. The standards set rigorous technical requirements and test conditions for energy storage systems in terms of electrical safety, battery safety, electromagnetic compatibility, functional safety, energy management, transportation safety, and environmental protection. They ensure that only safe and high-quality energy storage systems are allowed to enter the market.

Once the new German standard was officially released, it was immediately introduced to China by TUV Rheinland. As Pylontech was also actively looking to expand its overseas market reach, the company submitted the first application for certification to TUV Rheinland. The PowerCube series that has been certified is designed to be a modular system. Particular emphasis was given to the functional safety design of its electrical, battery, performance, BMS, EMS, and thermal management aspects. A variety of high-voltage energy storage products has also been developed within the PowerCube series targeted at different users and market application environments. Certification for the full product range has now been completed. In other words, the PowerCube-H1-48 product series from Pylontech not only satisfies market access requirements for Germany and other EU markets, but is also eligible to enter all other global markets as well. In the future, Pylontech will continue to partner with TUV Rheinland to combine advanced experience from overseas with the domestic market, further enhancing their in-depth cooperation for key energy storage markets such as Europe, China, and Japan.
