SEOUL, South Korea and HANOI, Vietnam, April 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobikor, a webtoon platform service provider, announced that it would launch Vinatoon (www.vinatoon.com.vn), Vietnam's first digital cartoon service, on March 15.
Vinatoon is derived from a combination of the words Vina, an abbreviation of Vietnam, and Korea's Webtoon, and it expresses the will to perfectly localize the best Korean webtoons for Vietnamese readers.
Webtoon means Web + Cartoon, and it is a vertically scrolled digital cartoon that started in Korea.
Unlike conventional printed cartoons or digital cartoons, which are read by turning the pages horizontally, webtoons can be read by scrolling vertically up and down for the maximum convenience on mobile devices, and they provide the greatest sense of immersion and fun on mobile devices like smartphones.
Young Koreans are already using smart devices anytime and anywhere to view cartoons in the webtoon format, and many movies, including Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds, which was released recently, dramas and games are produced on the basis of webtoons.
Vinatoon, the digital cartoon service first introduced to Vietnam, will officially service 30 localized cartoons of Daum webtoon, the best webtoon platform in Korea, and Mr. Blue. With the aim of providing the best-quality digital cartoons of Korea, Mobikor will join hands with the best Vietnamese partners and manpower to translate and localize the cartoons, and introduce high-quality digital cartoons in the Vietnamese language.
Starting in April, Mobikor is planning to carry out joint marketing with the top 3 Vietnamese carriers, i.e. Viettel, Mobifone and Vinaphone, and currently using facebook (https://www.facebook.com/vinatoon.com.vn/) to conduct SNS marketing and online marketing.
