Spark Plus, a corporate access company, and Solas Fiduciary Services, provider of directorships, board support, and consultancy, agreed to taking a minority stake in each other.
SINGAPORE, June 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Spark Plus, Singapore based up-and-coming provider of independent corporate access to listed companies through non-deal roadshows, and Solas Fiduciary Services, a privately-owned company that provides fund managers access to directorships in all major fund jurisdictions, have agreed to taking a minority stake in each other.
This strategic alliance comes at a time when the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II (MIFID II) regulation will have a significant impact in the operational, distribution and manufacturing processes of the global asset management industry in the long run. MIFID II is expected to affect assets managers based in Asia, as well as Asian brokerage firms, Asian businesses of European fund houses and asset classes such as equities to fixed income, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and foreign exchange.
Spark Plus focuses on hosting non-deal roadshows for listed companies to meet investors such as fund managers who seek new investment ideas in the Asia Pacific region. Their target market is listed companies that want to roadshow in Singapore and Hong Kong, while also broadening their shareholder register of companies that have a very domestic shareholder base in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Germany. Solas Fiduciary Services provides directorships, board support and consultancy with its management sitting on various boards of hedge funds, financial technology firms, private equity and real estate funds.
