SEOUL, South Korea, Oct. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- 12cm, a member company of the K-ICT Born2Global Centre, is the source technology company for the smart service "echoss stamp," and its overseas business subsidiary 12cm Global began commercialized servicing of echoss stamp in the Singaporean market.
This was accomplished through a partnership with a social enterprise under NTUC (National Trades Union Congress). NTUC is a national confederation of trade unions as well as a network of professional associations and partners across all sectors in Singapore.
As one of NTUC's social enterprises, NTUC Link is committed to improving the lives of families in Singapore by catering to the aspirational needs of a growing middle class, offering access and value.
NTUC Link operates Plus!, one of Singapore's largest and most successful consumer loyalty program. The Plus! program has more than 2.1 million members and over 1,200 participating merchant outlets with features such as instant redemption, online rewards and innovative redemption promotions. In driving innovation and digital transformation, NTUC Link signed a strategic partnership contract with 12cm Global to offer smart stamp services through their mobile application. The first collaboration between the echcoss stamp and Plus! took place at Artbox Singapore 2018 which is the Singapore's largest pop-up creative market in May this year. Since then, they have tried to expand the various services through their partner networks.
Singapore's Smart Nation initiative was officially launched by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on 24 November 2014. It is in alignment with this initiative that Plus! is the first mobile application in the city-state to open the digital stamp technology-based service. Echoss stamp is a format that involves stamping directly on the mobile phone screen. Each stamp has a unique identifying geometric pattern and is activated by static electricity from the human body. Echoss stamp is currently protected by approximately 220 patent rights.
The start of echoss stamp servicing has been immensely successful, launching at Singapore's largest creative market "Artbox Singapore 2018" (held at Marina Bay from May 25~27 and June 1~3) together with a variety of events.
Jay Cha, director of 12cm Global, said, "Although it may be small in size, the Singaporean market is a leader in Southeast Asia. The opening of our service through a contract with a prominent social enterprise such as NTUC Link is important here but, more importantly, is expected to serve as momentum for expansion into Southeast Asia." Cha added, "We hope to attract more attention to 12cm's overseas activities, as the company is a rare example of an active Korean business on the global stage through its own source technology."
Since its founding in 2013, 12cm, has created subsidiaries and joint ventures in seven countries, including Japan, the US and China. It has attracted over USD 27 million in investments and is rapidly growing as a leading O2O/fintech company with a business model that combines cloud-based software, smart stamp hardware and authentication services.
