Multi-million dollar investment underscores the company's commitment to Asia Pacific and provides a showcase for Signature Service and Otis ONE(TM) platform
HONG KONG, Feb. 19, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Otis today illustrated its commitment to driving innovation in the region with the unveiling of its Experience and Innovation Center (E&I) in Hong Kong. The Center showcases Otis' latest innovations while displaying creative new ideas for the elevator industry. Otis, the world's leading manufacturer and maintainer of people-moving products, including elevators, escalators and moving walkways, is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
"Since Otis came onto the world stage at the 1854 World's Fair, we remain inventors at heart. The setting up of Otis Asia Pacific E&I Center is a clear testament to our spirit of innovation. It brings our customers closer to our advanced vertical transportation solutions, with the aim of transforming the way we move people," said Stephane de Montlivault, President for Asia Pacific, Otis.
Breaking from architectural norms, the Otis E&I is a visual exploration. It shows how Otis is re-imagining the future of the industry. The tech-forward design of the Center takes its inspiration from the industry and the company's accomplishments, embodying architectural features, blueprints and shapes in a minimalistic design.
The diverse offerings are conveniently situated in six zones and showcase the company's signature products including those focused on redefining passenger experiences. Apps and live demos guide and inform visitors to learn how Otis is leveraging more than 165 years of industry experience into developing new innovative ideas. Intuitively located interactive touchpoints that blend the physical with the digital spark curiosity and offer a hands-on experience of Otis innovations in the real world.
Building owners have a dedicated zone within the Otis E&I. It highlights how they can improve their building value and attractiveness by easily modernizing and improving the comfort and safety of its tenants -- a key concern for many Hong Kong's aging buildings. Visitors also can see the company's latest service offerings: Signature Service and Otis ONE.
"In today's connected environment, customers expect different solutions and service levels. Both Signature Service and Otis ONE are prime examples on how Otis is using the latest technologies to set new benchmarks and service standards for the industry to follow," said Joseph Armas, Managing Director, Otis Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
