The syllabus is designed to introduce students to the concepts and fundamentals of advanced computer science, with a focus on Tezos blockchain technology. Upon completion, students will acquire the skillset required to create advanced applications running on the Tezos blockchain, along with a deeper understanding of the Tezos blockchain technology. Students will also receive opportunities for scholarships and internships at startups supported by tzVentures, a Tezos-specific incubator programme for start-ups to develop their business on the Tezos blockchain technology.

Over the past years, Vietnam has seen rapid economic growth and development, creating extensive opportunities for advancement across various industries. One example is the food industry, a major contributor to Vietnam's economic growth, yet it is also an industry that is susceptible to uncertainties. The potential for blockchain technology to modernise traditional methods in the food industry is unlimited and TSA and UET-FIT hopes to inspire innovation in a localised manner to bridge the gaps within traditional sectors with new technologies.

This collaboration strives to inculcate an accurate understanding of blockchain and advanced computer science technologies. TSA also hopes to replicate the success of its academic initiatives with Chulalongkorn University in Thailand and adapt it to the local context. Apart from training sessions with the students, there will be exchanges of expertise between the faculty and the Tezos community. Additionally, students with meaningful project ideas may stand a chance to receive funding for execution. This collaboration aims to build local capabilities and contribute to the development of the local blockchain ecosystem to bring in sustainable and meaningful social and economic impact.

"At our Faculty of Information Technology, many students are proactive in learning new technologies. The training will be a good chance for our students to learn about blockchain technology and the unique features of Tezos blockchain directly from experts in the field. Technical and financial support for project ideas by students could be a potential area for collaboration," said Associate Professor Hoang Truong.

First session of the training course will be held on 8 to 12 July 2019. Students who demonstrate competencies and enthusiasm in the first session of the training course may sign up for a more advanced round of training later in the year. Upon evaluation of the training course, students may use the credits from this training course to fulfil their degree requirements.
