SHANGHAI, April 30, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2020 World of Concrete Asia will be held from December 9 to 11 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. In 2020, WOCA will showcase the latest technologies and exhibits related to concrete general, concrete surface, mortar & related masonry, non-concrete flooring and so on. At the same time, nearly 100 world-class education programs and onsite activities are presented during the 3 days event.
As part of the onsite activities, the third Golden Trowel Awards Asia ceremony will be held on the second day of the exhibition on December 10, 2020. The registration of the 3rd Golden Trowel Awards Asia (GTA) opened on April 27th and will receive applications up to September 30th. The award recognizes contractors in Asia installing the flattest and most level concrete floors in several floor construction categories.
Golden Trowel® Awards are divided into twelve categories, each of which is subdivided into small projects in the range of 900-9000M2 and big projects larger than 9000M2, it also accepts projects with more than 900M2 (but not including narrow belts less than or equal to 6.6 m wide) and can be completed before September 1, 2020.

Golden Trowel Asia Previous Award Information
The GTA has been awarded to 12 Asian builders from 6 countries including China, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia, a total of 16 Asian Gold Trowel Awards, including 3 World Class Gold Awards and 2 World Record.
2019 GTA Awards Winners and Projects:
1. Shimizu Corporation* from Tokyo Japan for the Hachinohe Nagane Speed Skating ice rink in Japan. This is a GOLDEN Trowel (Asia). The track was 400m long and 16 m wide. They used a truss screed that was 18m long to strike it off. This is a very special project with unique and innovative techniques used. The F-Numbers were FF 74.85 / FL 81.61. The FL Numbers are particularly impressive for this type of construction.
2. Shanghai WellRock Construction and Engineering Co., Ltd*, for the Harbin Medisan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Lanxi Factory. This is a GOLDEN Trowel (Asia). This was a very small VNA warehouse (Fmin) project, with extremely narrow castings.
3. Chengdu Keyixin Technology Co., Ltd for their project Feirui Airlines East China Industrial Base. This is a GOLDEN Trowel (Asia). This was a large facility of 16,846m2 were quite wide, with a dry shake added, making it more difficult to achieve very high F-Numbers. The overall F-Numbers on this project were FF 66.86 and FL 66.28, with a combined sum (FF + FL) of 133.1.
4. B.S.Y. Construction Co., Ltd, of Bangkok Thailand, for their project WHA E-Commerce Park in Chachoengsao, Thailand. This is a GOLDEN Trowel (Asia). This huge large facility of 83,916m2 was on elevated piles were quite wide. The overall F-Numbers on this project were FF 61.98 and FL 38.34, with a combined sum (FF + FL) of 100.3. This is a GOLDEN Trowel (Asia).
5. Shanghai WellRock Construction and Engineering Co., Ltd, for the Skechers (Taicang) Trade and Commerce Logistics Co., Ltd. Warehouse building. This 3624 m2 project was measured to an elevation tolerance, and more than 99.9% of the elevations were within 9.8 mm of datum. This is a GOLDEN Trowel (Asia).
6. Mitramas Pte. Ltd., of Singapore, for a VNA floor at AMCOR Singapore, measured to Fmin tolerances. This floor was a "normal" VNA warehouse with relatively wide castings, making it much harder to achieve very high Fmin Numbers.
7. Chengdu Yiheng Construction Company., for their project Chengdu Dongbai Logistics Park. This is a SILVER Trowel (Asia). This was a large facility of 20,838m2 and the Laser-Screeded castings were quite wide, with a dry shake and steel fibers added, making it more difficult to achieve very high F-Numbers. The overall F-Numbers on this project were FF 66.14 and FL 59.06, with a combined sum (FF + FL) of 125.2. That wins a SILVER Trowel (Asia).
8. The Concrete Products and Aggregate Company, of Bangkok Thailand, for their project KRC Warehouse 2 in Siracha, Thailand. This is a SILVER Trowel (Asia). This was a large facility of 26,730m2 were quite wide. The overall F-Numbers on this project were FF 59.74 and FL 62.67, with a combined sum (FF + FL) of 122.4. This project wins a SILVER Trowel (Asia).
9. PT Merak Jaya Beton of Jakarta, Indonesia, for their project PT Satria Piranti Perkasa. This was a large 23,490m2 laser-screeded floor on piles. Floors suspended on piles are much more difficult to achieve high F-Numbers, because of the lack of support for the weight of the floor. The overall F-Numbers on this project were FF 57 and FL 42.2, with a combined sum (FF + FL) of 99.2. Because of the higher F-Numbers achieved by BSY, this is a SILVER Trowel (Asia).

Up to now, a total of 137 concrete builders from 5 continents have won a total of 352 Golden Trowel Awards. In collaboration between The Face and Informa Markets, the Golden Trowels Awards for Asia was first held at the World of Concrete Asia 2018. The emergence of the Asian Golden Trowel Award helps Asian contrators with excellent performance to gain worldwide recognition, and encourages deeper coomunication among the industry.
This year contest is for floor projects completed before September 1, 2020, the winners will be announced on December 10th during WOCA 2020.
