SYDNEY, July 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- On the 6th and 7th of September, Innovation Enterprise will host theChief Strategy Officer Summit in Sydney. One of the many speakers lined-up for the summit is Jonathan Prosser, Group GM for Strategy & Business at Cronulla Sharks. He will share how companies can dig deeper to uncover the barriers to strategy implementation.
The complex nature of companies and organizations often makes it hard to achieve effective strategy execution. Many encounter obstacles including inefficient planning, poor resource management, conflicting priorities and confused communication.
Jonathan Prosser, a Group GM for Strategy & Business Development at Cronulla Sharks, who is speaking at the Chief Strategy Officer Summit in Sydney believes that 'business unit strategies and overall corporate strategy need to consider all factors, both in the shaping stage and to ensure a degree of flexibility in delivery.'
The summit itself will focus on the innovative approaches to strategy within companies and this is something at the core of Jonathan's approach. He has experience of starting and running small business ventures and remains a mentor for the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship. Prior to joining the Sharks, he built his skills in Accenture's Strategy practice in London, which included leading two award-winning projects. With this experience in mind he believes that a successful business strategy includes two key aspects: "Firstly, a real point of difference. For instance, take the banking sector in the UK three years ago. Several banks hired the same organizations to help drive the development of their strategies, and the result was a lot of 'man-marking'. Secondly, ensuring that the strategy is orientated around the customer, preferably with input from them is key."
The Chief Strategy Officer Summit in Sydney is going to be focused on delivering agility to business strategies and how to streamline strategic processes. Jonathan believes that in order to do so, "companies have to stay relevant by testing the direction with both customers, clients, audiences and members of all departments from across the organisation."
In his presentation, Jonathan will share his observations on why companies struggle to deliver an effective strategy, based on academic research. He will also focus on identifying the symptoms to deeper and systemic problems that may occur from ineffective strategy implementation, and how to overcome them by finding and applying better strategy solutions.
"This summit will look to explore cost-effective strategy solutions, how to increase planning efficiency, and how to achieve and retain agility within a company," said International Events Director, Allie Laurent, at Innovation Enterprise. "Don't miss your chance to gain knowledge into the challenges and opportunities you are sure to face in the near future."
