25th Anniversary Activity of Hitachi Elevator: "Gratitude & Achievement"

GUANGZHOU, China, Dec. 29, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- On December 25, Hitachi Elevator (China) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the "Hitachi Elevator") celebrated its 25th anniversary. Trade associations, partners and related parties such as State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the Guangzhou Municipal Government (hereinafter referred to as "Guangzhou SASAC"), China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangzhou Sub-Council, Human Resources and Social Security Department of Guangdong Province, Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau, Guangzhou Panyu District People's Government, Guangzhou Intelligent Equipment Group Co. Ltd., and Hitachi (China) Co., Ltd. expressed their congratulations to Hitachi Elevator and discussed the next stage of its business development.

Zhang Daoquan, Deputy Director of Guangzhou SASAC, said that China and Japan have worked together to help Hitachi Elevator grow, achieving good economic benefits, promoting China's technological development in areas such as elevators and touch panels, and helping upgrade of Guangzhou's industrial structure. Through joint ventures and cooperation, Guangzhou Intelligent Equipment Group has taken the lead nationwide and played a leader in the industry.

Since the establishment in 1995, Hitachi Elevator has served over 120,000 projects and supplied the Chinese market with 930,000 elevators, carrying hundreds of millions of passengers safely every day. 

With advantages in industrial layout, operation technology (OT), and information technology (IT), Hitachi Elevator has realized rapid growth for 25 years, paralleling China's urbanization. In Guangzhou, Shanghai, Tianjin, and Chengdu, it has built a networked manufacturing system consisting of five whole elevator factories and two parts factories, and achieved 100% IoT production after the rational configuration of five functions: manufacturing (design), installation, logistics, accessories, and training. Furthermore, it has implemented product lifecycle management (PLM) of elevator products by using enterprise resource planning (ERP) and manufacturing execution systems (MES) to track data throughout the production process.

Hitachi Elevator also launched the first postdoctoral program in the elevator industry in Guangzhou, and built the world's tallest elevator experimental tower (H1 TOWER). Hitachi Elevator employs over 1,400 R&D personnel in China, and has obtained 1,000 patents, realizing local R&D innovation to keep pace with the world. 

Hitachi Elevator is now the core enterprise of Hitachi Group in China, and its business revenue accounts for 35% of Hitachi's revenue in China. Jia Yuhui, President of Hitachi Elevator, said that under the joint efforts of all parties, Hitachi Elevator's orders, production, shipments, and installations exceeded 110,000 units in 2020, hitting a record high. It is expects that the Hitachi Elevator's revenue will exceed RMB 22 billion this year, again making up the highest market share.

Regarding future development, Jia also mentioned that the elevator after-sales market will focus on IoT and AI in the meeting. The elevator is not only a simple transport carrier, but also an entrance to various user scenarios in the building. Hitachi Elevator is working actively to create a building ecosystem with the elevator as its core, combining elevators with building equipment to realize the deep interaction, helping make buildings smarter and serving owners better.
