GUANGZHOU, China, Dec. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- IE expo Guangzhou 2016 closed on November 26 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou -- and set new records. This year, the trade fair attracted 301 exhibitors -- a rise of 50 percent -- from 15 countries and regions to present their products and services on 19,000 square meters of exhibition space. And at 19,923, the number of trade visitors also increased, by 32 percent compared to 2015. The strong growth of IE expo Guangzhou in all its areas -- water, waste, air and soil -- is proof of the rapid development of the environmental protection industry in South China.
A spin-off of IE expo China in Shanghai, the Guangzhou version benefits from strong brand reputation and the global resources of the organizer, Messe Munchen, for a substantial increase in international exhibitors and visitors. The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, together with the Korean Environment Preservation Association, organized a National Pavilion comprising of 19 Korean enterprises for the first time. International professionals from Vietnam, the Philippines, Australia, Malaysia, Brazil, India, and Albania also visited the exhibition.
Additionally, the supporting program at IE expo Guangzhou 2016 was one of highlights. Fifteen forums and seminars focused on the hot topics and latest trends in the environmental protection industry in South China. Over 100 professionals and key players took part in the program and shared their experience with the audience. Among them, the South China Water Pollution Prevention and Control Summit Forum, the Guangdong Key Industries Volatile Organic Compound (VOCs) Control and Monitoring Technology Seminar, the Academic Seminar of Nationwide Sewage Treatment and Upgrading in Industry Parks 2016 and the Environmental Measurement Devices Technology Roadshow are obvious hits of this year.
IE expo Guangzhou 2016 was also held in conjunction with WasteMET Asia 2016, which was organized by SingEx and WMRAS, and brought together nine waste management associations from the Asia Pacific Waste and Environment Alliance (APWEA). The co-location created major synergies in the waste management and recycling sector for both exhibitors and visitors alike. With the support of the Environmental Protection Department and the Science and Technology Department of Guangdong Province, several matchmaking events were offered. Over 50 end-users attended the meetings. More than 100 exhibitors helped the end-users to find more effective and economic solutions to the challenges they are facing currently
