China Poker Games (CPG) Announces 2016 Dates

China's most popular poker festival set to run from August 25-31, 2016 at Howard Johnson Resort Sanya Bay, Hainan

SANYA, China, Aug. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The 4th China Poker Games (CPG), China's biggest and most prestigious poker tournament series, opens on Thursday August 25, 2016 at Howard Johnson Resort Sanya Bay.

As the only official poker tournament licensed by the Department of Culture, Radio, Television, Publication and Sports of Hainan Province, CPG has become one of the most influential international poker events in China and will guarantee a minimum prize pool of RMB8 million (USD1.3 million) for the main event.

Hosted by Hainan Sports Association and Hainan Poker Association, organized by Hainan Administration center of Sporting Events (HNS), the Government of Sanya and Huanao Sports Co., Ltd., it is the only Chinese poker event recognized by the Global Poker Index. The tournament director is World Series of Poker's Dennis Jones.

Since its inception, CPG has attracted over 200,000 players, and has issued over RMB45 million (USD7 million) in total prize money in the last three years. As an annual poker festival, it combines the intelligent, strategic game of poker with a modern lifestyle and has helped fuel the further development of Hainan's travel industry.

The 2015 event welcomed a record 1,075 participants joining the main event in addition to the biggest pot of any of the international poker tournaments in Asia.

CPG is the most professional, legitimate and prestigious poker event in China for both local and international poker players.
