Hong Kong Federation of E-Commerce Chairman Appointed as Hong Kong Region Advisor by Guangdong Province Electronic Commerce Association

HONG KONG, Dec. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Hong Kong Federation of E-commerce (HKFEC) announce today for the appointment of the chairman, Mr. Joseph Yuen as "Hong Kong Region Advisor" by Guangdong Province Electronic Commerce Association (GDECA). At the same time, Mr. Chen Xiao, Executive Vice President and Secretary General of the GDECA accepted the appointment of "China Market Advisor" from HKFEC.

On 17th Nov 2015, The Guangdong and Hong Kong E-Commerce Seminar was successfully held at conference room 2, 4/F, Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province. The event was hosted by Dr Li Xue Fei, Director of Electronic Commerce Division, Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province; Mr. Cheng Xue Yang, Chief of Electronic Commerce Division, Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province; Mr. Chen Xiao, Executive Vice President and Secretary General, Guangdong Province Electronic Commerce Association; Ms. Wu Mu Zhen, Deputy Secretary-General, Guangdong Province Electronic Commerce Association, etc. The Seminar invited a team of 15 guests from Hong Kong including Ms Jenny Wong, Head of Marketing Division, HKSAR Intellectual Property Department; Mr. Joseph Yuen, Board Chairman, Hong Kong Federation of E-Commerce; Ms. To Wai Bing, CEO of Hong Kong Television Network Limited, etc.

The Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province set a very high expectation for this Guangdong and Hong Kong information exchange on E-Commerce, and the event obtained the highest honor from Dr Li Xue Fei, Director of Electronic Commerce Division, Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province to give his opening speech and welcome all invited guests from Hong Kong. The Department of Commerce of Guangdong would like to see more interaction and cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong in the area of E-Commerce Development. After the opening speech by Dr Li, the seminar immediately went into market sharing from both side, starting from Mr. Chen Xiao, Executive Vice President and Secretary General, Guangdong Province Electronic Commerce Association.

HKFEC Chairman Mr. Joseph Yuen said, "Hong Kong offers a wide variety of quality product from all over the world, and it has been an attraction to mainland China consumers. On behalf of HKFEC, it is my honor to be appointed by GDECA as "Hong Kong Region Advisor". Our Federation is a non-profit organization formed by a group of E-Commerce industry professionals, leaders from Hong Kong major O2O retailers and also online retailers. We believe that cross border E-Commerce is the best solution for Hong Kong retailers, as the goods consumption will not affect the stock level at retail outlets, but the sales volume will still continue to grow from mainland China's online sales. Given this exciting engagement with GDECA, we hope to stop fake and poor quality brand product selling online, and also illuminate some bad online merchant to unreasonably raise the price of goods treated."

The partnership will also include academic exchanges between both sides, joint organization of E-Commerce industry exhibition, workshops, conferences and member visits.
