BEIJING, Oct. 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The 53rd Annual Prizes of Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), the international awards for the Asia-Pacific region, were released yesterday, and was attended by staff behind thousands of popular programs from the related countries. The TV show Impossible Challenge produced by CCTV was one of the shows that received a prize.

ABU, a professional organization of broadcasting organization Asia-Pacific, holds the TV show evaluation every year. Impossible Challenge, the inspirational show produced by CCTV and CCTV Creative Media became the first original Chinese entertainment show to be awarded, marking the second time a Chinese show has received prizes when a Chinese TV organization was part of the evaluation team in the past 30 years.

Xu Wenguang, the deputy channel program controller of CCTV-1 stated that Impossible Challenge was an international show and brought us "Common life, Great challenge" -- humankind's mutual challenge for inspiration. "We tell the Chinese story in a mutual language that people around the world can understand. The inspiration can be forward beyond language." Chinese values have been accepted by the world, helping to form the logical base behind why Impossible Challenge won an award.

Guo Tong, the managing director of CCTV Creative Media who produced  Impossible Challenge, noted that the  industrialization of Chinese TV program production prior to Impossible Challenge was one of the reasons behind why a Chinese TV program was able to win an award at an international competition. The show is a complete display of Chinese TV program production capability, not only the difficulties of design and photography, but also the careful advance planning, extensive editing  and need for a systematic design and industrialized operations. We gathered the top talents around China to handle these difficult duties."

The popularity of Impossible Challenge, which did not boast a "superman" or "idol" type role,  was in part due to its focus on common people's lives along with their extraordinary achievements. Characters such as "Footprint Finder" police officer Dong Yanzhen, "Sonar woman" Chen Yan, "Long Distance Eye-sight" from Kenya, "Human Tower" all made an impact world-wide, functioning as Chinese culture exportsComing up, even with many possible difficulties and technological challenges, the interaction between space station "Tiangong" and earth will be shown. On Oct 30, 2016, the second season of Impossible Challenge will be on.
