Pat Winter appointed to lead the EY Asia-Pacific geographic area

LONDON, Dec. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- EY announces the appointment of Pat Winter as EY Asia-Pacific Area Managing Partner. Pat will commence this post on 1 July 2018, leading EY's fastest growing geographic area – which grew 11.3% in FY17 to US$3.6b and has 44,000 people. Pat, 53, also joins the EY Global Executive leadership team, the most senior EY body focused on strategy, execution and operations.

Pat has more than 30 years' of experience in the professional services industry, with 19 years as a partner at EY. He was most recently EY Asia-Pacific Deputy Area Managing Partner. Pat brings strong transactions and corporate finance experience, having led numerous due diligence and IPOs for many emerging and fast-growing companies. He also spearheaded various growth initiatives and grew capabilities through strategic acquisitions, like those of EYC3 and Open Windows Australia, which brought key data analytics and cyber-security advisory capabilities.

Pat has held a number of leadership roles in Asia-Pacific, supporting a range of companies from emerging, mid-sized and fast-growth companies to large, public organizations in Australia and Hong Kong, and globally, large private equity houses. He has also led account teams and business development and serves on the EY Global Investment Committee as well as the EY Asia-Pacific Area Operating Executive Committee. He succeeds Steven Phan, who will retire from EY.

Pat joined EY Australia in Adelaide in 1994 and has lived and worked in London, Sydney and Hong Kong. Originally from Adelaide, Pat has a Bachelor degree in Accountancy from the University of South Australia and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
