Puji Capital Enters into eSports Industry with Investment into aXiomatic

With move, Puji Capital continues investment into digital media and entertainment companies by entering into growing eSports industry

HONG KONG, Dec. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Puji Capital is continuing its support and investment holdings in global digital media and entertainment companies by making a strategic investment into the eSports industry.

The Asia-based investment company on Wednesday made an announcement of its latest investment into aXiomatic, an eSports ownership and management group led by two renowned professional sports team owners, successful and serial media and technology entrepreneurs - Peter Guber and Ted Leonsis. Since September 2016, aXiomatic has been making high-profile investments into the eSports industry, including the controlling interest of Team Liquid, one of the most successful global eSports team franchises; and a lead investment into the series C financing for video game recreational league, Super League Gaming.

Team Liquid has been one of the most recognizable professional eSports organizations and brands for the last 15 years and has built a reputation as an innovator and leader in the industry. With more than 50 players competing on 10 different teams, Team Liquid compete at the highest level in global tournaments including StarCraft 2, League of Legends, Dota 2, Hearthstone, CS:GO, Heroes of the Storm, Overwatch, Halo, Street Fighter, and SSBM.

Peter Guber is a major player and influencer in the professional sports and entertainment industry. His career and accolades include former CEO / Chairman of Columbia Pictures Entertainment and owner / co-owner of three professional sports team including Golden State Warriors (NBA); Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB); and Los Angeles Football Club (MLS).
