Dr. Leo Li, Chairman and CEO of Spreadtrum, said: "We feel deeply honored to be awarded the 'Chindia Award'. India has always been a significant and strategic market for us. The smart terminal products that have deployed the Spreadtrum chip platform have gained popularity and recognition from Indian consumers over a period of time for our superior cost versus performance ratio. At Spreadtrum, we are focused on providing supreme quality products and services to our Indian partners and are facilitating the development of the mobile communication industry in India."

Spreadtrum entered the Indian market in 2009, relatively early in the timeline in terms of the recent renewed effort between the two countries to actively redevelop trade links, and established an R&D center in Noida. Spreadtrum's business partners cover local mobile network operators and terminal manufacturers. Leading Indian internet access and telecommunications company, Reliance Communications, and many of the local influential mobile phone brands, including Micromax, Intex, Lava, LYF, XOLO and InFocus, broadly adopt Spreadtrum's 3G and 4G platforms. Nearly 50% of smartphones ship to Indian market adopted Spreadtrum platform, which led Spreadtrum to become the No.1 mobile phone chip provider in India.
