"Female employees face more social challenges on their road to success," said Evan Guo, CEO of "Yet, more and more women today are willing to put their time and energy into work and are attaching more importance to their social role as a member of the workforce. Zhaopin aims to improve the awareness and recognition gained by women in the workplace through this award, and provide a space where outstanding female employees can receive the attention they deserve."

The results from three consecutive years of surveys focusing on female employees show that their most pressing concern is the respect that an employer demonstrates for their employees rather than the previous top concern of having access to a comprehensive benefits package. This year's survey revealed that there are fewer differences between male and female in terms of how they view corporate reputation and branding as well as the salary and benefits package. Both consider respect, the benefits package and a fair and impartial human resources agenda as the key characteristics of best employers. In addition, female employees pay more attention than male employees to an employer's composite indicators as they seek employment with companies that have the best management and the most comfortable working environment. Companies find it a challenge to present the best image of themselves to female employees.

The China Best Employer is a "best employer" survey conducted by together with Peking University's Corporate Social Responsibility and Employer Brand Communication Research Center. Founded in 2005, the event was the first such event during which the concept of an "Employer Brand" was rolled out onto a public communication platform in China. This year's survey received applications from about 200 cities across China, and more than 5,400 employers were selected to participate in the process, representing an increase of 83% from last year.
