Oracle's new Digital Hub to offer local SMBs support and resources needed to power digital transformation and innovation
SINGAPORE, Feb. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs) in the ASEAN region can now further reap the benefits of cloud technologies with the opening of Oracle's new Digital Hub in Singapore. Aimed at nurturing SMBs with the cloud solutions and resources they need for innovation and growth, this new facility reflects Oracle's strong commitment to better serving the SMB market, whose contribution and potential has long recognized, by the ASEAN member states, as being essential to their economic health.
The new hub will house Oracle's digital sales team and focus on helping mid-size organisations transition to the cloud efficiently. Abuzz with the creative energy of a start-up, the team will provide timely, personalised and effective support to customers, using the latest collaboration tools, techniques and technologies to transform the buying experience.
Francois Lancon, senior vice president, Oracle Japan and Asia Pacific, said: "SMBs make up the vast majority of business enterprises across ASEAN and they create most of the region's employment opportunities. Increasingly these smaller organisations are exploring the use of digital technologies as they seek to grow and effectively compete with larger enterprises. As an expert in cloud technologies, Oracle believes in the incredible transformation potential it brings to small businesses, enabling them to do things they have never been able to do before, at an affordable price. With the launch of this Digital Hub, we hope to empower SMBs to transform their businesses and be on a fully connected cloud -- one that can help them streamline business processes, gain access to an easy-to-use platform for innovation, and digitise their customer experience."
Thirumal Raj, Group IT Director at Elite International Logistics Singapore Pte Ltd said: "In the logistics industry, agility, on time tracking and delivery are essential to our success. To achieve these we needed to streamline our processes, be able to gather accurate insight easily and in a timely manner and at the same time, reduce operational costs. In short, cloud was the answer. The Oracle Digital Prime team introduced us to Oracle ERP Cloud, which has proven to be a perfect solution; besides reducing complexity, it has enabled us to propel our business forward while operating at a lower cost."
Customers who want to buy entirely online can utilise the click-to-buy Oracle Accelerated Buying Experience. In addition to the simplified buying experience, Oracle's Digital Hubs will provide a complete suite of cloud applications, platform, and infrastructure services as both standalone services and as bundles. The range of choice empowers small businesses to select solutions that directly address their goals or issues.
Chris Morris, Vice President, IDC Asia Pacific (excl Japan), said: "In ASEAN, the benefits of cloud service adoption have been quickly recognised by SMBs -- fast access to the latest and best business applications via SaaS and the removal of a need to own and manage IT infrastructure has meant that in 2017, 58% of ASEAN SMBs were already using cloud services and a further 26% were planning to use cloud services in 2018. We found that cloud service use increases with company size; smaller SMBs are planning to increase use from 2.9 to 3.9 cloud applications between 2017 and 2018, and medium size companies are planning an increase from 4.4 to 6.7 applications. However, more than 60 percent of all SMBs agreed that they will work to reduce the number of cloud services vendors from which they source services."
The Oracle Digital Hub in Singapore is the second in Southeast Asia, following the opening of the Digital Hub in Kuala Lumpur last year.
