Country Garden Wins Three Awards at Institutional Investor

FOSHAN, China, July 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading US-based financial publication Institutional Investor's 2018 All-Asia Executive Team Rankings were recently announced, with Country Garden Holdings' president Mo Bin standing out from the fierce competition. The real estate group's president was again named as a "Best CEO", and, among those who were named, received the best ranking, based on a poll of over 4,500 respondents consisting of buy-side analysts, money managers and sell-side researchers at securities firms and financial institutions.

The same group of respondents also named Country Garden CFO and vice president Wu Bijun as a "Best CFO", and investor relations director Ma Ziling as a "Best IRO".

Institutional Investor is one of the world's most influential financial magazines. The magazine undertakes the poll to determine the best executive management teams among companies in the Asia-Pacific region each year. Its annual ranking has become a major event in international capital markets and is recognized as a barometer at a global level for deciding what industries are best to invest in. The ranking is viewed as being by far the most authoritative ranking in the world's capital markets as the rankings are based on the polling results of members of the financial community who have been formally certified by the sponsors.

This is the first time Country Garden has garnered three of Institutional Investor's awards. On what analysts have attributed to the positive reaction to seeing the firm win the awards, the share price for Country Garden (HK.2007) jumped 11.29%, leading the rise in real estate stocks.

It is also the first time Country Garden won the "best IRO" award since being listed. Last year, Country Garden became one of China's residential developers with sales exceeding 500 billion yuan (approx. US$75.6 billion), in addition to entering the Fortune Global 500 list and became one of the constituents of the Hang Seng Index.

Earlier, Country Garden had moved up to the 143rd position on Forbes' recently released Forbes Global 2000 list, jumping 130 places from a year earlier. The world's largest and most powerful listed companies on the list are recognized based on four key indicators: revenue, profit, assets and market value. With US$33.8 billion in revenue, US$3.9 billion in profits, US$161.2 billion in assets and a market valuation of US$45.2 billion, Country Garden successfully gravitated into the all-important top 200 companies within the list.
