SHENZHEN and HONG KONG, Jan. 14, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Five Star Sports, a leading nationwide youth basketball academy program in China, and PacificPine Sports, the exclusive licensed operator of the PGA Youth Development Academy in China, have announced the completion of a merger and the closing of a US$8 million financing round led by PacificPine Group. The new combined company has been renamed PacificPine Sports Group. The financing included a US$6m series A preferred investment and a US$2m secondary common share purchase.
The basketball business will continue to operate under the Five-Star Sports brand and the golf business will continue to operate under the PGA Youth Development brand. The merged business will have operations in 10 cities across China with over 5,700 students and will be headquartered in Shenzhen.
