Elenex Indonesia focuses on smart electrical and energy efficiencies, while one emphasizes on smart building system and automation. "By combining these two events, we aim to accelerate the adoption of smart manufacturing and industry 4.0 in Indonesia. We allow hundreds of smart manufacturers to showcase their IoT-based automation and energy saving solutions, along with technologies involved in the industry 4.0 initiative nationwide to make Indonesia 4.0," said Wiwiek Roberto, Project Director of Pamerindo Indonesia.

Preceding to this event, President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo and Ministry of Industry of Republic Indonesia have initiated Making Indonesia 4.0, an industry 4.0 roadmap and strategies to succeed in the fast-evolving manufacturing industries in Indonesia. According to Ministry of Industry of Republic Indonesia, it points out to cutting-edge technologies to make industry 4.0 possible in Indonesia, including Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), smart sensors and devices to name a few successful implementation of industry 4.0 will go a long way toward addressing the GDP growth in Indonesia of up to 1-2 percent a year, expected to raise 5% of the baseline, reaching 6-7% in 2018-2030. Nearly a quarter of the growth rate projection is derived from Indonesia's manufacturing industry, that is now undergoing digital transformation through the future state of IoT.

Transforming into smart business, IoT can also help business save on operational costs and become more sustainable. Through intelligence-generated sensors and devices, for example, IoT will offer a level of control that we generally associate with human. "It will result in fewer human resources to do the tasks, which in turn significantly enhance cost and business efficiencies," said Tony Nur, General Manager of Sicurezza Solutions Indonesia, as one of the exhibitors at Building System & Automation Indonesia 2018.

Smart Grid, The Future Trend for Smart Buildings

Commercial buildings will save up to US$60 billion if investments in energy efficiency were raised by just 1-4%, according to a study by the American for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE). "Moreover, power quality has become a real concern in commercial buildings as it will further optimize the usage and enormously build up the appliances lifetime expectancy for business efficiencies. In this case, smart grid as the convergence of information (IT) and operating technologies, can be the nodes of the smart building technologies," said Eddie Widiono, Founder of Indonesia-based smart grid association, Prakarsa Jaringan Cerdas Indonesia (PJCI).

A strong correlation implies that smart grid technological advancements have deployed huge movements in rapidly evolving IoT devices, such as renewable energy technologies, electric devices and energy storage systems. "In terms of business, smart grid will create new markets and opportunities worth up to US$ 100 billion. It is mainly by using smart appliances to the business, including smart meters and data centers, smart substation, fiber optic, and IoT sensors," said Eddie Widiono. Smart grid and electrical will continue to play a key role in shaping the future of industry 4.0 in Indonesia. To succeed, it needs good collaboration between government and private corporation. "We also utilize advanced power and distribution transformers to provide our state electricity firm (PLN) with the leading-edge technologies. Thus, we would help them accelerate the modern energy transmission, even in rural areas," said Vincentius Winarto, Business Development of Trafo Indonesia, one of the exhibitors at Elenex Indonesia 2018.

Hundreds of local and overseas manufacturers will also participate in the upcoming exhibitions, Elenex Indonesia 2018 and Building System & Automation Indonesia 2018, targeting to be one of the largest annual exhibition of IoT, building automation, energy efficiency solutions.
