Carrie Liu, Head of France, Eurasia from Tuya Smart, shared data from Statista in her presentation, showing that revenue of the smart home market is projected to reach $2,176m USD in 2021, the household penetration will amount to 17%, and the market volume is expected to reach $3.837 billion USD in 2025. She indicated that the French smart home market grew by 288% in 2020, with the cumulative number of activated devices ranking in the top 4 in Europe.
Haddad Jérôme, Executive Director of Yantec – XanLite, shared his views on smart lighting. He pointed out, with the rise of digitalization and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the sales of smart lighting products grew rapidly. It is the future direction of smart lighting to control devices in a simple and intuitive way, interconnect with other smart home products, and realize scenario-specific intelligence.
Linda Jinli BELY, Managing Director of Senya International SAS, briefly set forth the future development direction of the smart home. She believes that the smart home concept has evolved to focus on user experience, security enhancement, ease of maintenance, and remote control. Smart houses can not only connect and remotely manage IoT devices through applications or specialized software, but can also reveal the behavior of residents.
Bruno Vulcano, Chairman of the Board from Zigbee Alliance, believes that many manufacturers select Zigbee for its low power consumption, safety, and flexible frequency. At present, Zigbee occupies more than one-third of the market share of smart home WSN (wireless sensor network) chipsets. By 2023, one billion Zigbee chips will be shipped every year worldwide.
