On April 28, 2021 (GMT+8), 2021 China-Latin American and Caribbean Taijiquan Online Competition drew a successful conclusion. Over 200 overseas athletes from 13 countries and regions participated in the competition. Nearly 7 million netizens from 127 countries and regions voted online for nearly 1,000 video entries submitted by domestic and overseas athletes. Among the entries, seventeen videos recorded over 320,000 view counts in total on YouTube. The visits to the official website reached nearly 23 million.
This competition, hosted by the Chinese Wushu Association, kicked off on March 15. Awards were based on new standard routines, compulsory routines and traditional routines, and came in the first, second and third prizes with e-certificates. Statistically, there were 236 domestic and 110 overseas first-prize winners. Two "Most Popular Athlete" e-certificates were awarded to domestic and overseas athletes with the highest number of votes, respectively.
