OutSystems Names 2019 Innovation Award Winners

The company recognized customers from Asia Pacific that use OutSystems to build innovative applications and transform their business.

SINGAPORE, Jan. 29, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- At the recent NextStep conference in Denver and Amsterdam, OutSystems announced 2019 Innovation Award Winners from a slew of categories across IT. These companies were evaluated based on business impact and measurable IT benefits they achieved with their initiatives.

The OutSystems Innovation Awards recognize, honor, and celebrate the organizations and people that are using OutSystems to make IT dramatically more proactive, productive, and essential to creating business value and driving innovation.

Overall, 10 companies were honored in six categories, displaying excellence in Best User Experience, Business Impact, Digital Transformation, Legacy Modernisation, Mobile Excellence and Time to Market.

Best User Experience Awards

Sakata Seeds Corporation, a world leader in breeding and producing seeds won the award for value adding the IT department with web and mobile applications by leveraging on OutSystems' expertise. Complexity was reduced and the applications allowed for quick turnovers on system requests by end users of the application.

Business Impact Awards

Liberty Insurance, a diversified global insurer won the award for its Claim Transformation for leveraging on OutSystems to create an application that managed claim workflows. This led to 100% productivity gains and an increased Net Promoter Score as the app helps expedite the claim process. Agents and customers were also found to be more satisfied with the overall claims process.

Obayashi Road Corporation, a paving construction and civil engineering company won the award for their web-based application that allowed for simple and quick reporting. Using OutSystems, they built a platform that also allowed for easy approvals and accurate cost calculation. Business process efficiency improved in just six months, and audit processes were much smoother.

Digital Transformation Awards

Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management and automation, won the award for their Smart Logistics E-tracking web application. The application was developed with real-time integration with Schneider's federated ERPs via APIs to fetch relevant data and aggregate them into meaningful information on an intuitive user interface. This empowered business users, increased productivity and reduced direct variable costs in Europe and four other DCs worldwide.

BRI Security Pty Ltd, a specialist corporate risk management and security services organisation that has merged with end-to-end security solutions provider Certis Security Australia, won the award for their Explosive Trace Detection application. It was able to be rolled out in record time, while remaining compliant with the ETD processes, and therefore benefited airport security screenings.

Legacy Modernisation Awards

Western Australia Department of Health, the government department responsible for regulating and advancing health within the state, won the award for their Medical Accounts Assessment System (MAAS) that digitally transformed the core system that pays contracted medical professionals in public hospitals. The transformation has delivered much greater accuracy, flexibility and self-sufficiency to enable the department to match the evolving requirements of the Australian Health System, without requiring code changes to do so.

Surbana Jurong, one of the largest multidisciplinary urban, infrastructure and management services consulting firms based in Asia, has won the award for their Integrated Estate Management Solution (IEMS 2.0) that includes the IEMS Case Management and IEMS Deployment modules, developed and implemented for their clients who are running operations in the residential and commercial properties within the various townships. The low code system improves operational efficiency and productivity for case management processes, with the enhanced user interface and experience.

Mobile Excellence Awards

Astra Credit Companies, a financing solution provider in Indonesia won the award for their various product/mobile applications that launched under three months. ACC leveraged on OutSystems' rapid application development to seize opportunities in the market and deliver a quality experience for both internal and external stakeholders, with services such as simplified loan monitoring.

FWD Life Insurance Corporation ("FWD Insurance"), part of pan-Asian FWD Group, is leveraging digital technology in pursuit of its vision to change the way people feel about insurance. The insurer won the award for mobile B2C insurance application FWD Tapp, that enabled customers to use various self-service features such as managing their policy on-the-go, check their premiums, monitor their investment portfolios, and visually see how their investments are growing over time. Using OutSystems platform, this highly engaging experience has increased customer satisfaction, helping FWD Insurance improve retention and brand loyalty.

Time to Market Award

JTC Corporation, a Singapore-based developer won the award for their iEnforce application that consolidates the offence lifecycle and stores related photo evidence. The application enabled business users to save on administrative costs and man-hours while empowering IT to rapidly develop applications on a versatile and intuitive platform.
