Q CELLS Malaysia Factory awarded 'Best CSR Company Award' from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Malaysia

CYBERJAYA, Malaysia, Aug. 19, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Q CELLS Malaysia Factory was awarded 'Best CSR Company Award' at CSR forum hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Malaysia on August 8. This award recognized the factory for its contribution to the development of education in Malaysia and for improving the working environment. More than 60 people attended the awards ceremony, including officials from Malaysian government agencies such as the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) and the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), and executives of Korean companies in Malaysia.

In January 2018, Q CELLS donated total 214 sets of school supplies package to four organizations in four regions, Bandar SaujanaPutra, Hulu Langat, Kajang, and Senawang, to assist students who have difficulty getting an education due to their economic burden. In addition, in April 2018, the Company donated each 100 reams of A4 papers to four schools in three regions, Hulu Langat, Semenyih, and Dengkil, to relieve the burden of teachers who had to use their own money to purchase papers and to improve the students' practical educational environment.

Q CELLS also makes substantial efforts to improve working environment. In May 2019, the Company newly established Q CELLS Voice Committee (QVC) to enhance the mutual communication between management and employees. Employee representatives collect employee's feedbacks on four topics, welfare & safety, discipline, work improvement ideas, training & development, and share them at monthly QVC meeting. After the meeting, management discusses a way to improve the matters and share the results with employees.
