The 17th Western China International Fair Gathering Held in Chengdu

CHENGDU, China, Feb. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- At the 2018 Chinese New Year Gathering for Consulates General and Overseas Business Associations held by Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs, Yang Qinglong, secretary-general of the Organizing Committee Secretariat of Western China International Fair and director of Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs clearly introduced the "highlights" of exhibitions held in Sichuan in 2018.

"In 2018, Sichuan will hold the 17th Western China International Fair (WCIF), the 6th China (Mianyang) Science & Technology City International Hi-Tech Expo, the 2nd Tianfu Financial Fair..." Director Yang introduced the economic achievements of Sichuan in 2017 to the guests, and strongly recommended the 17th Western China International Fair 2018.

Yang said that the 17th WCIF would be held from Sept. 20 to Sept. 24 at Western China International Expo City, with Italy as the guest of honor, and a total exhibition area of 200,000 square meters. At present, various works, such as event organization, investment and exhibition promotion, guest invitation, and publicity, have been launched. Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs will spare no efforts to provide quality service for all participants and in investment and business-starting, and take great efforts to present a more open, pragmatic and effective Fair.

At the activity, guests including Deputy Consul-General of Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing Davide Castellani and Chairman of British Chamber of Commerce Southwest China Richard Han, on behalf of all the attendees, delivered speechs. A leading group of Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs, staff from Royal Thai Consulate-General, Chengdu and Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing carried out cultural and entertainment performances.

Foreign diplomatic envoys to China from 21 countries and regions including New Zealand, Poland, Czech, Singapore, South Korea and Italy, and over 90 Chinese and foreign guests from overseas trade investment institutions, and associations and chambers of commerce gathered together to welcome the Chinese New Year, renew friendship and pursue common development.
