Overall Sales Volume Soared by About 1.5 Times YoY in February
HONG KONG, March 10 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- TCL Communication Technology Holdings Limited ("TCL Communication" or the "Company", together with its subsidiaries referred to as the "Group"; HKSE: 02618) today announced the Group's unaudited handsets and accessories shipment data for February 2010.
The Group's overall sales of handsets and accessories in February were very promising. They reached 1,445,380 units, a remarkable increase of 146% over the same period of 2009. Shipments to overseas markets soared by 189% to 1,358,562 units from the corresponding period in 2009, reflecting the Group's overseas operations fully recovered.
Following the business adjustment, the Group's operating efficiency and competitiveness substantially improved. In order to capture the business opportunities brought about by the global economic recovery, it formulated a strategic plan to expand and deepen the cooperation with major operators in different areas to augment its sales channel. While consolidating the low-end product segment, the Group extended its operations to mid and high-end segments to drive business growth. It will strive hard to achieve the sales target for this year by strengthening efforts in developing Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) business to get more orders.
