RICS Showcasing Professionalism at Cityscape Asia 2010 in Singapore

HONG KONG, May 6 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- As economies show signs of recovery, the global property world is gradually turning its attention to Asia to uncover new opportunities in the regional investment landscape, say the organizers of the world's largest international real estate investment event, Cityscape Asia 2010 held on Suntec City of Singapore from 18 to 20 May.

RICS, a leading global property professional institution with over 140,000 members all over the world, will be a key supporter of this year's Cityscape Asia. This year, Max Crofts, RICS President, will also attend the exhibition and conference at Cityscape Asia to show support to property development in Asia.

"I am pleased to be attending Cityscape Asia 2010 and supporting the growing number of RICS members in Asia. One of my roles as President is to encourage the exchange of best practice across our global membership. All involved in land, property and construction issues around the world will benefit from the experience and expertise of the RICS members and other property professionals at Cityscape," said Max Crofts, RICS President.

"Even though Asia's main economies are not immune to the global downturn, pricing and rentals were revived during the second half of 2009, with the total market capitalization of Asia real estate investment trust rising by 17.6 per cent - totaling an increase of 34.5 per cent for the whole year. This growth was encouraged by China's stimulus measures and has led several Asian markets to report positive growth during the later part of last year," stated Graham Wood, Group Exhibition Director of Cityscape.

Themed "Asian Real Estate Comes of Age", a key highlight at this year's Cityscape Asia event is the new architecture stream focusing on trends in urban design and sustainable communities. To align with the theme, RICS will organize a Cocktail Reception on 18 May from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. for its members at Cityscape Asia to promote networking among property professionals and provide a platform for RICS members and property professionals to develop regional and international business links. Furthermore, RICS will also display its industry-related research reports and publications at its booth (A14) at Cityscape Asia.

Cityscape Asia is an annual networking exhibition and conference focusing on all aspects of the real estate development cycle. The three day event will run from 18 - 20 May 2010 at Singapore's Suntec. Top deal-makers from leading developers, banks, institutional investors and investment authorities, as well as senior officers from the foremost private equity funds and investment advisory firms, will gather at Cityscape Asia to discuss the key issues and investment opportunities.
