Corporate real estate association further strengthens its Asia Regional Council
HONG KONG, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- CoreNet Global, the world's leading professional association for the corporate real estate sector, is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. William Taam as the new Chair of its Asia Regional Council with immediate effect.
A 27-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry, Mr. Taam, who is also the in-house authority for all real estate, facility planning and infrastructure support services for AIG Global Real Estate Investment (Asia), succeeds Chevron International's Senior Property Advisor, Mr. Nigel Harris, who has served as the association's Asia Regional Chair for the past two years.
An active member of the association since 1996, Mr. Taam is widely regarded as one of the region's leading experts in corporate real estate, having previously served as CoreNet Global's Vice Chair of Learning for Asia, as well as in an advisory capacity on the organization's Hong Kong Chapter Committee, 2005 Summit Host Committee, and a number of its Asia programme planning committees.
As Chair of CoreNet Global's Asia Regional Council, Mr. Taam will be responsible for driving the vision of the association in the region, the strategic objectives of which include increasing membership, delivering high quality educational and networking opportunities, plus improving support to the corporate real estate community in developing markets in Asia.
In a further strengthening of its advisory team, CoreNet Global also disclosed today details of the representatives who have been elected to serve with Mr. Taam on the association's Asia Regional Council. The council brings together some of the most respected names in the real estate profession in Asia, and will comprise the following commercial realty leaders:

Mr. Taam notes that such initiatives are likely to include the announcement of a number of new educational programmes over the coming months, plus the hosting of a CoreNet Global Summit in Hong Kong next year that is scheduled to take place from March 22-24, 2011.
The annual CoreNet Global Summit will bring together real estate professionals from diverse backgrounds who will meet to share ideas, insight and best practices, and discuss the challenges facing the multi-trillion dollar industry.
