TopCoder(R), Inc., the leader in online programming competition, skills assessment and competitive software development platforms, today announced that Yang Li of Zhongshan, China, is the Development Competition Champion of the 2010 TopCoder Open, the world's foremost competitive computer programming and creative design tournament.

Li, known by his TopCoder Community handle 'Yeung' (http://www.topcoder.com/tc?module=MemberProfile&cr=15604762), was one of nine Chinese finalists in the competition who were joined by competitors from Ukraine, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Romania and Nigeria. The competition challenged the competitors to develop solutions across multiple technology platforms and development languages. Li won with over 14,000 total points and programmed primarily in .NET. He was also a finalist in the TopCoder Open Mod Dash competition.
"I was fortunate in this competition and my project work helped a lot. I am very happy to have earned a $20,000 prize," said Li. "I think I will put this prize towards buying a house or car."
The event took place October 11th -14th at the MGM Mirage in Las Vegas as 82 top performers from around the world competed across multiple tracks for a share of $150,000 in prizes.
