SHANGHAI, Jan. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Praxair China has successfully commercialized Praxair Dilute Oxygen Combustion (DOC) technology at two copper smelting furnaces of Jinchuan Group Limited (JNMC) in Jinchang city, Gansu province of northwest China.
The Praxair DOC technology is expected to help JNMC achieve cost savings over 10 million RMB per year via reduced fuel consumption and reduction of carbon dioxide emissions of over 50%. In addition, nitrogen oxide emissions will be lowered significantly.
Praxair DOC technology provides higher energy efficiency and furnace operation flexibility at lower capital cost. This technology uses high-momentum fuel and oxygen jets to provide strong in-furnace gas recirculation, promoting uniform flame, uniform heat release pattern and ultra-low nitrogen oxide emissions.
In 2009, Praxair DOC technology made its debut in China at Jinlong Copper in Anhui province, East China.
