Offered in Virtual Seminar Center from UBM Studios

CHICAGO, June 15, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ --UBM Everything Channel's CRN presented India's first virtual show for the channel community on May 17-18, 2011.  Targeted to the channel community, the two-day event offered insightful information and presentations from industry experts as well as best of breed offerings from technology vendors from India and abroad.  The virtual event was presented in UBM Studios' Virtual Seminar Center.  UBM Studios leads the industry in world-class user engagement for virtual environments, social networking and gaming.

The virtual event drew over 600 attendees from 139 Indian cities.  On average, more than 140 attendees participated in each live conference session.  In addition, attendees downloaded over 4300 videos, documents and whitepapers.

"The first CRN Virtual Channel Show received an overwhelming response with more than 600 unique visitors from across 139 Indian cities logging in. In a vast country like India coverage for a virtual event is unprecedented. The compelling engagement of the visitors and relevance of a virtual platform is evident from the fact that each visitor spent an average 4.5 hours at the virtual event. The environment UBM Studios' produced for the event is simple and yet very feature rich and operates on a low bandwidth which made it possible for many enterprise VARs from smaller Indian cities having lower bandwidth to benefit from the show," said Dhaval Valia, Associate Publisher & Executive Editor, CRN India Edition.

The conference program included:

  • The Enterprise IT Investment Trends Survey 2011 by Nitin Mehta, Senior Manager, Advisory Services, E&Y India
  • State Of The Cloud: Understanding The Indian SMB Landscape by Neha Jalan, Senior Associate, AMI-Partners India
  • Introduction To Microsoft Online Services by Suresh Ramani, Founder President, IAMCP India West Chapter & CEO, Techgyan
  • How To Use Social Media Effectively by Sampath Iyengar, Social Engagement Officer, NeoSocial 7 Media Solutions
  • State Of Cloud Computing Market In India by Sanchit Vir Gogia, Associate Research Manager, Software, Springboard Research India
  • Goods And Service Tax And The Impact It Would Have On Channel Business by Sunil Gabhawalla, Founder & CEO, Sunil Gabhawalla & Co
  • IT Software Double Taxation: Challenges & Solutions byRajesh Kothari, Chairman, ISODA & Managing Director, Blue Chip Computers

"It was a privilege to have the opportunity to be part of the CRN Virtual Channel Show and share thoughts with peers in the industry. Despite being the first-of-its kind by UBM in India, the team did very well to execute it in a professional manner and ensure high level of attendance. Kudos to the UBM team for putting up a spectacular show!" said Sanchit Vir Gogia, Associate Research Manager - Software, Springboard Research.

The event's platinum partner was EMC. The exhibitors included: EMC, Belkin, D-Link, EATON, eScan, HP Networking, LG, See Beyond, Tally Solutions and Tata Communications.

"Congratulations CRN for launching such an innovative platform. The format was non-intrusive and partners could attend at their convenience and priority. For vendors it provided reach at lower cost and a platform for a meaningful dialog. A true win-win proposition," said Amit Mehta, Director, Marketing, EMC India and SAARC.

The event was supported by leading Indian industry and channel associations -- Compass, CMDA, CONFED ITA, International Association of Microsoft Channel Partners, ISODA, PCAIT, TAIT, MITDA and GIBA.
