TOKYO, Nov. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Naver Japan Corporation ("Naver Japan", headquarters in Shinagawa, Tokyo, Morikawa Akira -- the CEO) announced that downloads of its free Voice Call/Messenger smart-phone application 'LINE' (http://line.naver.jp) via App Store has been resumed on November 1st, at 3:00 AM (Japan standard time).
Users have been unable to download LINE from Apple's App Store since October 19th, at 9:00 AM (Japan standard time) due to Apple's warning stating that 'LINE does not provide a sufficient user approval process in its Service Terms and Condition of Use'. Since then updates have been made, including the addition of an English version of LINE's Terms and Condition of Use, so that the existing user approval process is more noticeable. The updates have been reviewed and approved by the App Store, and downloads of LINE have been resumed.
Naver Japan deeply apologizes for the inconveniences which LINE users experienced during the past couple of days.
Users from around the world expressed their worries about the situation and major media outlets in Southeast Asia and the Middle East dealt about LINE's temporarily suspended downloads as one its top news stories. Naver Japan was astonished but they were still encouraged by the attention LINE received from across the globe.
LINE has been downloaded more than three million times over the four-month period since its launch, and is becoming a truly global mobile messenger which is used in more than 108 countries around the world. Naver Japan will exhort their effort to expand mobile communication globally by developing more convenient services in the future.
