Enjoy the Romance of Autumn at the Incheon Airport 'Orchestra Festival'

SEOUL, South Korea, Nov. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its ongoing cultural performance program, Incheon Airport will be holding regular performances with an autumnal theme titled 'Culture touch the sky' featuring top local artists. The performances will be held at Millennium Hall located at the center of the passenger terminal starting at 4:00pm for 80 minutes everyday from November 9 to November 15. Top artists will perform along with local orchestras during the 'Orchestra Festival.' They will perform pieces that can only be seen in traditional concert halls.

The Mostly Philharmonic Orchestra teamed with cellist Myung-Hwa Jung and baritone singer Jung-Hak Seo, which is regarded as the best performance group, will perform on the first day of the festival with splendor and magnificence. On November 10, the KBS Traditional Music Orchestra along with Chung En Han, the master of 'Daegeum', and jazz harmonica master Je Duk Jung will play a variety of Korean and international medleys. The following day, November 11, will feature a multi-cultural chorus sponsored by the Incheon Airport named 'Montant' that will surely give a thrilling performance under the guidance of their artistic director, who is none other than South Korea's famous pop-diva Insooni. On November 12, musical actress So-Hyun Kim and tenor Jung-Pil Ryu will give a romantic musical performance. And on November 13, The National Orchestra Company of Korea, Korean classical musicians Byung Ki Hwang and Sook-Sun Ahn will perform together to show the beauty of Korean classical music. On November 14, saxophonist Danny Jung will collaborate with the Mostly Philharmonic Orchestra to play pop, OST and jazz numbers. The last day, November 15, singer Hee-Eun Yang together with the Ansan Korean Music Orchestra will give an arousing performance that will fill the hall with the spirit of South Korea.

The stage of the Millennium Hall, the venue for the performances, resembles an art gallery as many works of art are on display, so it regularly attracts the attention of visitors to the airport. Currently being shown are works by media artist Lee Nam Lee, 'A Scene of Moon Pot' and 'Mokjukdo', which are works that are imbued with the beauty of the Orient. Many other artists are currently slated to have their works displayed as well, so in this way, the Millennium Hall is not only a venue for the performing arts, but is also a permanent gallery where any visitor can appreciate fine works of art.

In addition to offering live musical performances of differing genres 365 days a year, the Incheon Airport Corporation is planning to expand its showcase of differentiated cultural offerings by building a "street of traditional Korean culture" on the 4th floor, and putting precious historical artifacts and relics of South Korea on display.
