Mr Marco Wu, Chairman, Hong Kong Housing Society, named as Property Person of the Year at RICS Hong Kong Awards Presentation
HONG KONG, March 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Organised by RICS - Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the RICS Hong Kong Awards 2014 were revealed at the RICS Hong Kong Annual Dinner, held on the 20 March 2014 at the JW Marriott Hotel. The awards, seen as 'Oscars' of the Hong Kong real estate industry, recognise and honour the outstanding real estate teams for their endeavours in the industry.
Built on the success of last year, new categories have been introduced to invite participation of more talented professionals. These include the 'Professional Services Team Award of the Year' and the revolutionary 'Community Awards: Members Choice', which also mark the first awards to be voted by RICS members in Hong Kong. With the vast and committed membership base of industry experts, these new 'Community Awards' have captured the attention of many and look to usher the RICS Hong Kong Awards into a new era.
After lively debate and careful consideration of the 11 jurors, 12 winners were selected to showcase their outstanding achievement and contribution to the industry:

This year's Property Person of the Year Award has been selected by the 11 Jurors, and is presented to Mr Marco Wu Moon-hoi. The jury panel voted Mr Wu as someone who has been able to make substantial and exemplary contribution to the property industry in recent years, while also recognising his success and devotion over the history of his career.
Mr Michael J Moir, Chair of Jury Panel, said, "Marco Wu has had a long and distinguished career in public service in Hong Kong and has shown great leadership in facing up to many difficult challenges in the Housing Department and Buildings Department. In his current role of Chairman of the Hong Kong Housing Society, he brings a wealth of experience that will enable him to make a major contribution to its social mission of providing affordable housing to the people of Hong Kong. He has contributed a great deal to many professional, educational and social organizations over the years through his experience and wise counsel. The jury panel was pleased to select him for the award."
