HONG KONG, March 12, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- (ISC)2® ("ISC-squared"), the world's largest information security professional body and administrators of the CISSP®, announced the opening of nominations for its sixth annual Asia-Pacific Information Security Leadership Achievements (Asia-Pacific ISLA®) Program. To nominate an executive or information security professional, please visit http://www.isc2awards.org/ and select "Asia-Pacific ISLA". (ISC)2 officials will honor this year's honorees at a gala dinner on 17 July 2012 in conjunction with SecureAsia@Tokyo Conference http://www.informationsecurityasia.com/ in Tokyo, Japan.

The Asia-Pacific ISLA Program, launched in 2007 as part of (ISC)2's global Awards Program, recognizes the ongoing commitment by information security leaders in Asia-Pacific to build a highly qualified and ethical information security workforce.  Recognition is independent of professional certification. Professionals can be nominated in three distinct categories:

  • Senior Information Security Professional who has significantly contributed to the enhancement of the information security workforce by demonstrating a leadership role in any information security workforce improvement initiative, program or project (examples include: chief security officer, chief information security officer, information security manager or senior security manager with significant information security management responsibilities).
  • Managerial Professional for an Information Security Project (non-information security professional examples include: chief information officer, chief financial officer, program/project manager, etc.) who has significantly contributed to the enhancement of the information security workforce by demonstrating a leadership role in any information security workforce improvement initiative, program or project.
  • Information Security Practitioner who has distinguished him/herself for implementing and/or managing the implementation of a component of a security program (examples include: conducting difficult, complex security evaluations/testing, implementing significant technical functions, etc.).

A nominations review committee, comprised of members from the (ISC)2 Asian Advisory Board (AAB) and previous Asia-Pacific ISLA honorees will review all applications based upon the selection criteria and eligibility requirements.
