361 Degrees Announces the Results of Its 2012 Spring/Summer Trade Fair

HONG KONG, Aug. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- 361 Degrees International Limited ("361 Degrees" or the "Company", together with its subsidiaries, the "Group"; HKSE stock code: 1361), one of the leading sports brand enterprises in China, is pleased to present the following key highlights of its results from the 2012 Spring/Summer Trade Fair (the "Trade Fair") held recently:

  • The Order Book (at wholesale value) for this Trade Fair rose by 23% compared with the same fair in August 2010
  • Volume growth for apparel and footwear was 9% and 10% respectively
  • Average selling price for apparel and footwear registered increases of 12 % and 14 % respectively
  • The wholesale discount to distributors will be 58%, effective from this Trade Fair
  • A new sub-brand "Shine", in transliterated English, was launched

The 2012 Spring/Summer Trade Fair was held over a period of eight days from July 15, at the Company's own premises in the Wuli Industrial Park in Jinjiang City, Fujian Province, and was attended by well over 4,000 representatives from the distributors, retailers and business associates of the Group.

As the largest of the three Trade Fairs held annually, over 1,000 new SKU items in total were on display from the three main product groups: apparel, footwear and accessories.

The footwear collection featured new offerings in all the traditional lines including basketball, running, cross-training and cycling as well as the outdoor and lifestyle ranges. The apparel collection displayed well over 450 SKU units and introduced a new line in outdoor wear for water sports, in line with the Company's sponsorship of the 3rd Asian Beach Games to be held in Haiyang, Shandong Province in June 2012. Organized under the auspices of the Olympic Council of Asia, these biennial series of Games will be held in China for the first time, the two other previous occasions being held in Bali, Indonesia and Muscat, Oman.

Having quietly developed and tested the "Shine" brand over the last two years in the market, the Group felt confident for this sub-brand to be launched at this Fair. It is positioned at the upper end of the current price range and is targeted at the more fashionable sub group within the ages of 18-25 who seeks a different and more individualistic product range. About 100 SKU items, primarily in footwear and apparel, were on exhibit and also paraded by young runway models.

The Group reduced its wholesale discount to 58%, to be effective from this 2012 Spring/Summer Trade Fair. The wholesale discount was last adjusted in the 2010 Autumn Trade Fair in December 2010 and this second increase underlines the confidence and acceptability of the 361 brand, especially after the glowing tributes from the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou.
