HONG KONG, Sept. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) and Nantong Industrial Technology Institute (NTITI) announced today the establishment of the ASTRI - NTITI Joint Laboratory in Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, focusing on the research and development of the next generation wireless network solutions.
Dr. Justin Chuang, Vice President, Next Generation Network of ASTRI and Prof. Jianhua Lu, Honorary President of NTITI and Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences officiated at the signing ceremony and signed the collaboration Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Witnessing the ceremony included Prof. Chen Xu, Associate Dean of NTITI, Prof. Ning Ge, Associate Dean of NTITI, Dr. Meikei Ieong, Chief Technology Officer of ASTRI, Mr. Bill Zhang, Senior Director (IC Design Analog), Dr. Eric Tsang, Director of ASTRI, representatives from Tsinghua University, Nantong University, NTITI and ASTRI.
The establishment of the ASTRI - NTITI Joint Laboratory will strengthen in-depth collaborative research and provide highly competitive and innovative solutions for the next generation wireless network technologies.
The joint laboratory will cover the following key R&D and commercialization areas:
