AU Optronics Corp. Reports August 2010 Consolidated Revenue

    HSINCHU, Taiwan, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- AU Optronics Corp. ("AUO" or the "Company") (TAIEX: 2409; NYSE: AUO) today announced its preliminary consolidated August 2010 revenue of NT$43,545 million, up by 12% month-over-month and 15.5% year-over-year.

    Large-sized panel(a) shipments for August 2010, with applications on desktop monitors, notebook PCs, LCD TVs and other applications, exceeded 9.91 million units, up by 7.1% from the previous month. As for small- and
medium-sized panels, the shipments amounted to nearly 18.15 million units, up by 4.9% month-over-month.

    (a) Large-sized refers to panels that are 10 inches and above in diagonal 
        measurement while small- and medium-sized refers to those below 10 
        inches.
