SHANGHAI, May 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The 109th China Daily-use Articles Trade Fair (CDATF), the country's premium event for the houseware industry, will be held between August 6 and 8 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, setting a stage for displaying the latest market trends and seeking mutually-beneficial partnerships.

The CDATF, which came to Shanghai in 1953, is the longest-running exhibition of its kind and also the biggest in Asia Pacific. Initially, it was hosted by the China Commerce Association for General Merchandise (CCAGM) but in 2012, Reed Huabai Exhibitions, one branch company of Reed Exhibitors Greater China, started to act as the organizer in a bid to push forward globalization of the exhibition.

Reed Exhibitions, the world's leading event organizer, annually organizes more than 500 fairs in 43 countries globally, including the Home & Giving Fair and Life in Style in Australia and GIFTEX in Japan.

The CCAGM, the official supporter of the CDATF, has 600-plus major Chinese multi-channel retailers, department stores, wholesalers, distributors and manufacturers as its members with a connection network covering 15,000 enterprises in mainland China.

Largest ever

This year's CDATF will be the largest ever. With 6,000 booths covering 140,000 square meters across 10 exhibition halls, the event is expected to showcase homewares from 2,000 Chinese and overseas exhibitors in more than 20 segments, including plastics, ceramic ware, glassware, bamboo and wood products, kitchen, dining and cleaning products, outdoor and gardening products, bathroom accessories and home decoration products.

The 109th CDATF has introduced four new segments: home-use textiles, bedding, suitcase & bag and small home appliance.

More than 90,000 visitors from 40 countries and regions are expected to participate in the event. The CDATF is well-known as a made-to-order sourcing platform because more than 80% of the exhibitors have manufacturing capabilities, thus effectively lowering the intermediary costs.

Also on-site will be many exciting complementary events, including matchmaking sessions to pair international exhibitors with local buyers, as well as seminars to inform participants of the latest updates on traditional retailing and e-commerce sectors.

In 2014, the 108th CDATF attracted 1,620 suppliers and 60,000 professional buyers, up 21.8% and 20.4% respectively from 2013. In a survey of the participants, 96% of the exhibitors said that they would recommend the CDATF to friends and colleagues.

Matchmaking channel

With an aim to bring international buyers face-to-face with providers of first-class houseware products and business solutions, the CDATF has a unique offering: matchmaking for international buyers.

The organizer is able to customize solutions for global buyers based on their interest and preference. There will also be a special resting area for international buyers with complimentary tea, coffee and snacks.

The CDATF offers overseas groups additional services, such as an official group photograph session, fast visitor registration, a guided tour of the exhibition, business matching with selected exhibitors and competitive travel packages and hotel rates.

This year, the organizer has also invited representatives from some of China's e-commerce giants to join and will set up a special area for commercial negotiations.

Trade visitors can register for a free admission badge before July 15. Email confirmation containing the pre-registration code will automatically be sent once registration is completed successfully. This pre-registration process will also allow visitors to have the chance to win a free iPad mini in the raffle session.
