HANGZHOU, China, November 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Chint Solar (Zhejiang) Co. Ltd. (Astronergy) has made the decision to withdraw from the acceptance of the Undertaking in connection with the Anti-dumping and Countervailing measures on imports of crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules a originating in or consigned from the People's Republic of China.
EU Commission previously pointed out that two Astronergy production factories both in China and in EU would cause concern of EU Commission for the future MIP undertaking obligation implementation and operation by potential cross subsidy risks.
To avoid any potential risks between these two factories under MIP undertaking system, Astronergy must decide to pick one factory out of these two to supply EU region. Astronergy finally chose its German factory (Astronergy Solarmodules GmbH) for continuous supply in the EU region, which means its China factory, as the sole undertaking entity, has to be excluded. Picking the German factory is a difficult decision. However, the creation of 270 jobs in Frankfurt (Oder), Germany will have a significant and positive contribution to the EU due to Astronergy's decision.
To address again here, Chint Solar (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd was the only entity involved in the MIP undertaking. Other entities of Astronergy including its Germany factory are not parts of undertaking and will not be affected by the exclusion from MIP undertaking. Sufficient supply from Astronergy Solarmodules GmbH and Astronergy's other global production sites will not impact any business and orders for EU customers.
