Bifrostec and KAITEKI: Good Vibrations for Quality Life

TOKYO, September 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Bifrostec Inc. has developed a monitoring technology for a comfortable life by vibrations through collaboration with The KAITEKI Institute, Inc. It is sensors technology to measure vital signals of people while they are conducting their normal lives without attracting anyone's attention. It is also based on research and development to find methods for timely detection of early signs of illness and/or changes in physical conditions, so that everyone can lead pleasant and comfortable lives.

At the same time, Bifrostec Inc. will also exhibit "OkiDoki" and "D'Egg".

"OkiDoki" is a palm-sized "Location Free Speaker" incorporating Bluetooth receiver, where the sound from TV will emanate as soon as the unit is placed on a table located far away from the TV. It is proven to be the most effective in lecture halls, conference rooms, assembly halls, as well as in various recreational facilities.

"D'Egg" is a small, high performance speaker system that shapes just like an egg. Experienced speaker master developed the system from the ground up by being particular about the shape, unit, and materials, with an aim to achieve an ideal speaker system. As a result, three-dimensional holographic sound stage will appear in front of the listener, which is quite unexpected from speakers of this size.

Bifrostec Inc.: We are a group of well-versed engineers, each with years of experience in their respective fields, such as optical discs, signal processing, wireless telecommunications, electronic control, acoustics, vibrations, and materials. The name of the company is coined by combining "Bifrost" from Norse mythology (a rainbow bridge that connects "Asgard", the home of the gods, and "Midgard", the world of humans) and "Technology" which is our roots and pride. We will continue to deliver technologies and products by combining our unique ideas and engineering resources.

The KAITEKI Institute, Inc. (TKI): TKI is a research institution, and is a part of Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Company (MCHC) group. Its mission is to realize "Kaiteki" (pleasant and comfortable lives), which should exist beyond Sustainability (sustainable society), through the powers of sciences and technologies. In the 21st century, people are faced with various challenges, such as energy/resource shortage, water/food crisis, and health related issues. In order to overcome these challenges, and to realize pleasant and comfortable environment for the entire earth, what can the Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Company (MCHC) group do? The KAITEKI Institute was established as an institution to conduct research in order to find answers to that question.
